Prescription Bottle Project Update

Thank you for all your submissions to the Prescription Bottle Project! Submissions closed on September 1. We’re still going through them, and probably will be for awhile. We don’t currently have an estimated completion date.

I’m sorry that it’s taking longer than expected, but we want to give each submission the time and care it deserves. If you haven’t heard back from us yet, your submission is still under consideration.

Although we had originally planned to publish the first prescription in January, we are most likely going to have to push that date back because of the volume of submissions and the fact that we have such a small staff (er… of one).

Stay tuned for updates.

Pittsburgh Zine Fair Report

We had a fantastic weekend participating in the Homunculus Reading and the Pittsburgh Zine Fair. We met tons of awesome new people, sold quite a few books, bought quite a few zines, and generally enjoyed the fun community atmosphere of the fair. My husband even reconnected with a friend from college he had no idea had moved to Pittsburgh.

Because zines are usually written and hand made by the people selling them, we had to explain that I was not, in fact, the author of the books I was selling, but a more traditional type publisher. I was a little worried Wild Age Press’s odd ball nature at the zine fair would mean a wasted day, but far from it. Other great non-zine-type organizations were there, like Small Press Pittsburgh, Barge Press, and the Big Idea Bookstore, all of whom are pretty awesome.

We definitely plan on participating in next year’s zine fair, and we’re already looking forward to it!
